Is it worth advising?

Advice does not work or may be rarely works

Let’s apply the 80:20 rule to this and see

80% of the time advice givers are solving wrong problems. Giving solutions to the wrong problems, they rarely solve the main problem.

80% of the time, the stated problem usually is not the real problem – not the actual issue that needs to be resolved as advice givers have not stayed curious for long enough to find the real challenge

Only 20% of the time the issue being addressed may be the right one

80% of the solutions offered are a mediocre solution. This is because, the persons offering the solution usually do not have the full facts, and, have made a whole lot of assumptions. The solution offered is based on their experiences, brain patterns and includes their self-serving biases.

The effectiveness of the solution is only 20%

80% of the time, the advice receiver will not follow the advice

Only 20% of the time the advice receiver is likely to take the advice and follow it

And importantly, most of the time the persons receiving advice are only looking for someone who will just listen to them.

How effective are advices are then?

Is it worth giving advice?
