In 2014, my COO asked me to be take up a role as a ‘Jungle Guide” to an expat from Europe, who was to join as a Global Delivery Leader at Mumbai. I was to help him in settling down in his role, setup his teams, processes, workflows, frameworks, and structures required to succeed in his role. I was also required to help him settle down in Mumbai.


This was the 2nd transition project that was assigned to me. Little did I know then that, it would also be the beginning of my journey as a Coach. Next several months, over numerous trips to Mumbai, I spent extensive time with him and his team plus other stakeholders, who were also senior leaders from delivery, engineering, HR, IT, and support streams.


Repeatedly, I found it quite frustrating, as many of the leaders, I was working with, would commit on following some advice and take actions, only to fall back into their familiar patterns & old habits that were less than ideal. I was frantically looking for ways to make sure that they would persist with the agreed course.


That is when one of my friends, an HR Leader, introduced me to a Coaching Skills & Science Course. I dove deep into it, completed courses in leadership and team coaching, participated in numerous webinars and interacted with numerous coaches & mentors learning all


Coaching gave me an opportunity to discover who I could be and ways to craft my true potential. It also provided me with powerful tools, frameworks, structures, and processes that I can tailor and use to help others. Learning how to coach, the neuroscience, brain-based approach to coaching has helped me understand how to help leaders and teams change the conversations that they are having with themselves and their conversations with significant others. Thus, helping them make long term behavioral changes to design significant benefits for them both in workplace as well as life


Fast forward to 2021, I have earned my ACC (ICF). Practicing as a Coach since 2014, I have worked with several leaders, managers, and teams and helped them become purposeful leaders and teams. I have helped them make their own decisions and then implement significant next steps that they chose to take.


My approach to coaching is as a thinking partner. I help the leaders shape and focus their future. I invite the leaders to challenge assumptions, explore beliefs, provide them with a safe space to have a conversation about fears, limiting beliefs, doubts, anger & hopes. At times, I offer inputs and invite the leaders to consider if it can help fill the experience gap and help in expanding perspectives.
